This is in response to Kay’s junkyard quote “Perhaps the bar was raised so high that he just walked right under.” I think this is a really great quote. The way it creates a play on a popular idiom shows the development of language throughout the years. Usually you would see this quote written as “she lowered her standards” but in a way this quote is saying the exact opposite. To extend this idea further than relationships would be an interesting project to undertake. Could the same be said for unrealistic goals? This could be the basis for a great story.
